iTunes Album Rating

November 7th, 2015

Recently I started importing a large number of CDs into my iTunes library. I set up an “Unrated” playlist to play the songs/tracks that I hadn’t rated yet. As I was rating songs I noticed that some songs started disappearing from the playlist even though I hadn’t rated them yet. Googling this didn’t reveal anything useful other than that there was an album rating being applied to each track, and this was causing the songs to be removed from the playlist.

On to design

October 8th, 2013

I’ve been thinking about doing a series of some programming topic. Two ideas came to mind. Going through Effective C++ or Design Patterns

I’ve read both books and either would be really neat to do a series on. However currently I’m at a place where I think design patterns are a higher priority, and I will start going through the book and work on my own solutions to the patterns.

My goal is simple. Just to improve on my knowledge of design patterns and be able to apply them when they are needed.

I’m crying; well not really

Nine months ago the Blender Foundation released it’s latest open source movie Tears of Steel. This short intermixed live action with CG elements. The acting and the script are a bit cheesy, and some of the effects didn’t quite work out, but overall I feel that it looks pretty well.

Take a look if you haven’t already.

Art Exhibition of the Century

August 9th, 2009

Last week my father-in-law, Placido D’souza, had an art exhibition in New York City. The exhibition featured pencil drawings that he did of leaders and other famous people while he was an ambassador for India. Here is a nice article describing the event.

I missed the event because I was busy with work and other stuff, but I’ve heard from others that it went well. Mr. D’Souza was pleased with it.

MontaVista logo Animation

December 20th, 2008

I made this awhile ago with a co-worker while we were at MontaVista. We were hoping that it would be used for a graphics demo at a trade show, but it wasn’t.

I decided to post it to youtube and see what people think of it.

Enjoy

First tomato of the season

September 1st, 2008

This spring a tomato plant started growing in my garden. I must have thrown some rotten tomatoes in the garden because I certainly didn’t plant anything. Anyway, I recently plucked the first tomato from that plant.
